Modern Bohemian: Men are embracing botanical patterns this Spring

Artistic, relaxed and liberated, the bohemian style is more than just a fashion trend. This Spring, male shoppers are embracing more relaxed silhouettes and bold botanical patterns, according to Lyst.

The definition of a bohemian is “A socially unconventional person, especially one who is involved in the arts.” And typically, bohemian style focuses on vintages pieces from the 1960s and 70s, where bold patterns and expressive colours are key.

For the most part, bohemian style is about unconformity and a refreshing change from the modern and sleek aesthetic of current trends. Recent searches for “loose” shirts and pants have spiked 142% since the start of the month, while page views for short sleeve floral shirts have increased 30%.

Chic boho brands such as CMMN SWDN and Nanushka are trending among male shoppers with searches up 36% and 39% week-on-week respectively.

While the bohemian is often associated with the hippie style, boho fashion actually started as a counterculture in the 19th century.

However, today with the wide variety of bohemian clothes and accessories this style is a phenomenon that follows the idea of effortless and relaxed fashion mixed with creative and artistic elements.
